Background:

Worstead School was founded in 1845 as a Church of England school and now has voluntary controlled status. It is a co-educational school for children aged five to 11 years. The school is situated in the picturesque village of Worstead, which has historic connections with the wool trade. The school house, which formed part of the original building, is now incorporated into the school. This is a rural school, which combines the best traditions of a family atmosphere whilst ensuring that each child reaches their true potential. Accommodation includes the main school building with four teaching areas, including a library. Worstead village hall is also available to the school as an extra teaching space for physical education. Outdoor facilities include a playground, playing field, which includes a range of comprehensive outdoor play equipment. Much of the school has access for wheelchairs. The school offers a range of after-school activities, which include soccer, cricket, netball, art club, morris/maypole dancing, handbells, cycling proficiency, science club and book club. The school aims to ensure that pupils develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding and build positive relationships based mainly on Christian values.
