Background:

Situated about two and a half miles south of Attleborough, Old Buckenham Primary opened in 1963 and has been extended considerably in the last few years. The grounds are an 'outstanding' feature and consist of two hard surfaced areas, a wall providing shelter and opportunity for playing games, an adventure playground and a 'very large' games field. Extra-curricular activities include tennis, cross-country, gymastics, card skills, football, netball, cricket and recorder groups as well as cycling proficiency for Year 5. The 'happy and lively' school aims for 'high academic standards' but places equal emphasis on 'developing the rounded child'. 'Qualities such as politeness, thoughtfulness and a caring attitude are given a high priority'.
