Background:
Located midway between Norwich and Kings Lynn, Fakenham is a 'busy' market town just 10 miles from the North Norfolk coast. Pupils at Fakenham High are currently housed on two sites, which are separated by two sets of playing fields. The sixth form students occupy Highfield House, a listed Georgian building with 'commanding views across splendid grounds to the town'. Years 7 to 11 are based in a number of 1950s buildings in Field Lane. Many of the school's departments benefit from specialist accommodation such as drama studios, a media studies centre and an expressive arts block. A number of sports are offered by the school, including football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, cricket and athletics in which 'some notable local and national successes have been achieved'.
