Founded in 1895; draws pupils mainly from Clenchwarton and the surrounding villages; fully-subscribed, with about 30 per cent of pupils from outside official catchment area. Three of Key Stage 2 classes housed in original Victorian building, with others in flat-roofed building added in 1960; two other classes in mobile classrooms on school field. Large playing field used throughout the year and flourishing environmental area. Heated indoor swimming pool used for part of year; children from reception class to Year 6 take part in weekly swimming lessons. Reputation for sports; clubs associated with various team sports, such as football, netball, basketball, and tag rugby. New ICT suite, with 17 PCs, interactive whiteboard and six class-based laptops; plans for broadband internet access. Active School Council, with representatives from each year-group.
