Background:

Attleborough Junior School was formed from the County Primary School in September 1973. In April 2003 a new extension was opened, accommodating four new classrooms, a library and toilets. The new library houses an extensive selection of fiction and non-fiction books suitable for each age group. The old library has been converted into a computer suite. A large hall creates opportunities for drama, music, dance and PE. Pupils to develop research skills and to enhance their learning in specific curriculum areas also use the internet. All classes on a weekly basis for borrowing books use the library. It is also used within the curriculum for teaching of research skills. Children have the opportunity to listen to a variety of music and to sing both traditional and modern songs. Children have the opportunity to join music clubs to learn instruments, such as recorders. The school also receives some music teaching provided by the county peripatetic music advisory service. The school aims to create a caring environment in which everyone recognises the value of personal relationships.
