Background:
The school was founded in 1822 and is located in a small rural village between Attleborough anbd Wymondham, 15 miles from Norwich. The most recent addition to the school accommodation was built in 1997. Extra-curricular activities include football, netball, short tennis, athletics and drama. Carleton Rode Primary benefits from very good links with the village playgroup, local church and local community. The school takes part in the county music festival recorder sections, and shares harvest produce with senior citizens and the children's hospice at Quidenham. The rector and the Baptist pastor visit each week for assembly and a lay reader visits once a month. There is also a 'very active and supportive' Friends of the School Association.
